BRUSSELS AND THE EU
Since the end of World War 2, Brussels has become an important city with many influential international organistions.
The Treaty of Amsterdam (1957) made Brusses the official host of two of the major political institutions of the EU: The European Commision and The Council of the European Union.
Although the EU has no formal Capital, Brussels serves as the informal Capital of the European Union.
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
The European Commission is the exectutive branch of the European Union. It is a political body composed of one appointed representative from each European member state or nation.
